On March 1, 2012 my wife, Truetta, and I purchased the United Country-Northern New Mexico Real Estate franchise in Chama. After working with United Country for many years, we knew the company offered extensive marketing for local properties and nationwide exposure. We have been residents of the Chama Valley since 1992 and are currently owners of three local businesses. I have been a licensed Realtor since 1993 and hold a Qualifying Broker’s license in New Mexico. In addition, I play an active role in my community. I am the past Charter President of the Chama Valley Rotary Club, and a past director of the Chama Valley Chamber of Commerce. Truetta and I are very active members of our church, where I serve as a deacon.
I have always enjoyed a great love of the outdoors, from the time of my youth when I earned the Eagle Scout Award, to graduating from the University of Missouri with a Bachelor of Science degree in Forest Management. I also enjoy snowmobiling, four-wheeling, hiking with my dogs and various other outdoor activities available in our beautiful area.

I have been in real estate for 17 years, 15 of which have been in the Chama Valley. I’ve had my qualifying Broker’s license for over a year. I am a native New Mexican and can speak Spanish fluently, which I feel is a great asset in this multi-cultural area. Being a Realtor in this beautiful mountain country, not only gives me the opportunity to work with people, but allows me to enjoy our great outdoors at the same time.
My greatest enjoyments are spending time with my five grandchildren and taking them hiking and camping in our mountains and several nearby lakes.

Since moving to the Chama Valley in 1990, my knowledge of the area has grown through contact with other business owners, locals and tourists. Living and working in this beautiful area is about as close to heaven as it gets! I entered real estate for the fun. The rewards have come from the lasting relationships and happy faces of my clients and customers. Prior to real estate, I worked in major furniture stores in California and New Mexico, taking classes in interior design and space planning. I find the creative elements of design tie in nicely with real estate.
My love for gardening must be in my DNA, passed down from my grandmother and mother! Getting dirt under my nails is a very therapeutic and gratifying. My other love is oil painting and the sense of creating something beautiful on a flat surface is challenging and brings great pleasure to me. My dogs are a major part of my life and I love coming home and being greeted by their wagging tails. Living and working in this beautiful area is about as close to heaven as it gets!

I grew up in Chama and after marrying a geologist, lived in several exciting places, including New Orleans, Houston and England, where we were lucky enough to travel extensively. Besides a short career in nursing, I managed a library for four years and then became a full-time mom. When my two boys were grown I worked in retail. After an absence of 27 years, I moved back to the Chama Valley and began as a part-time secretary/receptionist for Northern New Mexico Real Estate, which later became part of the United Country franchise.
